Mother nature can be a fickle one sometimes. So much so that mankind has taken things into their own hands. Luckily we as human beings have figured out how to make our own snow. As a child growing up in Hawaii, creating snow was one of my dreams. Imagine looking forward to the ocean then turning around and seeing snow on the land. Unfortunately that will still be a dream as you can’t have snow in 85 degree weather. Here on the mainland it’s another story. Science and technology have found a way to create snow where there is not(temperatures permitting of course). Several resorts all around the world have started using these multi million dollar machines to keep the mountains covered for several months. We could get into the whole global warning debate and other environmental factors. One fact of the matter is that we’re seeing a downward trend of less snow annually. I personally think it’s great that we have the technology to keep us active in the winter and still be able to spend more time with friends and family. Here’s a great behind the scenes video that has put together at Calabogie Peaks Resort.
