Meet Our Neighbors It’s Small Business Saturday

Image from Eastside Heritage CenterCome by for a boot fitting, a tune-up, or let us re-string your tennis racquet.

While you’re at Sturtevant’s or Ski Mart we thought we’d show you who’s in the neighborhood.

We’re celebrating our 39th year in business. Thank you to Duncan Campbell and Alan Quinn for launching Sturtevant’s in 1977. Their goal was supporting local skiers (then boarders) and tennis players with great service and selection.

Ski Mart is geared up for rentals, and deals on boards, skis, and clothing. Duncan and Alan opened the first Ski Mart in Bellevue in 1986. Come by the Bellevue store and our shop in Tacoma, we have expert staff at both locations.

Here are some of our neighbors…

Mini Mountainminimountain is ready to help your new skier or boarder. A great idea for nervous parents or for kids who have troubles on the snow. Hey, maybe even a great warm up idea for someone just getting back in the sport after surgery or time off.

shineIf you want a new place to get in shape you should meet Kim Kloster, the owner of Shine Fitness. Kim founded Shine Fitness in 2011. She’s a USA Junior Olympic Ski Racer,

If you need lunch or dinner across the street on 20th try out Baskets Cafe authentic Taiwanese food, founded in 2015. We’ve had great lunches and they make an exceptional latte. There’s Briatore Pizza for mediterranean cuisine. Check their pizza plus they have great choices for salads and sandwiches.  The other side of the block off of 130th stop by Bellevue Brewing Company. Yes, you can bring the kids in too.

los-chilangosPlenty of Sturt and Ski Mart staff vote YES for the food truck on 130th! Try Los Chilangos for tacos, burritos, and tamales.  Big TVs for sports fans. Over on Bel-Red Road you can grab a bite at Mox Boarding House. Mox Boarding House is the newest member of the Card Kingdom family of businesses, founded by brothers John and Damon Morris.

bg_wine-of-the-week-150x150Get some shopping done at Seattle Wine Company on 130th. Meet the owners Karen and Nabil, they’ve been there for 13 years. Wine tastings every Friday from 4:00pm – 6:30pm and Saturday from 1:00pm – 5:00pm.

“We hand select and taste every wine that we sell to make sure we are selling what we love and you will love.  Our prices are the lowest in the market, yes even lower than the wineries and the big box stores. Can’t find what you are looking for? No problem, we special order those hard to find wines.”

When you see their sign guy on the corner…give him a wave and a friendly honk.

masisonTheir neighbor is Blaise Bouchand at Maison de France.  Blaise is a native of Paris, Franceand opened his business in 1996. He has a wonderful collection of gifts and furnishings, and interior design services. Go meet him soon.

Ski and Snowboard season is here!

We’ve had people heading out to Canada for the break. We’re all happy that Crystal Mountain opened the day after Thanksgiving. The rest of our local resorts are getting ready for more big dumps.

Don’t wait – the right gloves and a good boot fitting for you or the kids can make a season extra special! At Sturtevant’s and Ski Mart stores you’re shopping with experts. Racers, Coaches, Golfers, and Tennis Players. You’d be amazed at our staff resume!
